Eric Gill’s statue of Prospero and a naked juvenile-like Ariel carved in Portland Stone that stands outside the BBC Headquarters.
This was commissioned by the first director-general of the BBC John Reith in 1932.
Eric Gill; a beast (by his own admission in his diaries published in 1989) who practised in incestuous activity with his 2 daughters (he raped them on numerous occasions), incestuous activity with his younger sister (again he raped her on numerous occasions) and bestiality (he used to sodomize his family dog).
Over the years many have campaigned to have the statue removed, most recently in 2017 sexual abuse charity “The Survivors Trust” gave this quote to the London Journalism Centre;
‘It’s an insult to allow work like this to remain in such a public place.
‘It is almost mocking survivors, it is intolerable.’
The BBC countered this argument with this quote;
‘The statue of Ariel and Prospero on the front of Broadcasting House stands as a metaphor for broadcasting, executed by one of the last century’s major British artists whose work has been widely displayed in leading UK museums and galleries.
‘There are no plans to remove or replace the sculptures at the front of Broadcasting House.’
Still, think the BBC has your best interests at heart?
Still, think the BBC wouldn’t lie to you?
The BBC is a cesspit of paedophiles and paedophile defenders…just look at how long Savile got away with his heinous crimes against children (He was even given a Knighthood [sic] highest accolade a paedophile can receive).
Who knows, maybe if Savile never got rumbled there would be a statue of him carved in Portland Stone erected shoulder-to-shoulder with this monstrosity.
